Ecclesiastes is a wisdom book from the Old Testament rendered familiar by popular sayings ("there is nothing new under the sun") and popular songs (chapter 3 was featured in the #1 hit from 1965, "Turn, Turn, Turn").
But more than just wise sayings, we find in this book a man grappling with the very things we grapple with as human beings, namely, whether we can find meaning in life when there is so much uncertainty and suffering.
The answers it provides are amazingly relevant almost 3,000 years later as is evident in this 14 week sermon series from 2009.
