The service of tenebrae (darkness) impresses our hearts and minds with the awful consequences of sin and the magnitude of the Savior’s sacrifice.  The service begins with a fully lighted church to symbolize Christ as the Light of the World, but as the words from the cross are spoken, the candles are gradually extinguished symbolizing Christ's life ebbing away.  We will also join together in a celebration of the Lord's Supper.
